Recent Purchases July 2013

Here are a few things I have picked up over the past couple of weeks. As you can tell from most of these things I have really been into neon recently, I think it is because the sun has finally decided to come out. I love wearing bright colours in the summer but this year neon seems to be everywhere.

The t shirt and jumper are both from Zara, I bought these just before the sale started which is a little annoying! I love both tops and I’m sure I’m going to get a lot of wear out of these. The jumper will be great when the weather starts to turn colder which we all know it will. The colours are not quite showing as bright as they are in real life.

I don’t own a midi dress so when I saw this one in Primark I had to pick it up, I love the floral print. I think it will be great for any BBQ’s or parties coming up  and I can dress it down with a loose cardigan.

I picked up this neon bracelet from H&M which will be a great pop of colour paired with a white t-shirt and jeans. I also bought these rings from Primark, they are a steal at £3!

Lastly, these are a couple of nail polishes that caught my eye. I haven’t tried the Barry M gelly polishes but I have heard good things about them and I wanted some more neutral colours.   The shades are Essie Butler Please, Barry M Prickly Pear & Barry M Lychee.

P.S I know the colours are a little off in these photos, I'm trying some different photo editing software.

Primark AW13

As most people know I am a big Primark fan and it's that time of year again when they bring out their new collection for the Autumn  / Winter. Over recent years Primark's collections have been getting better and stronger. I believe they are at point now where they are rivalling the bigger names i.e Topshop and Zara. These are my favourite picks from the collection, I can't wait to starting seeing these pieces hit the store over the coming months.

Marc Jacobs and Love Moschino at Harrods

Today I am writing a post about one of the most famous shops in London. I think most people will be familiar with the Harrods green and gold logo and their store on Brompton Road in London . When I think of Harrods I always think of the saying I once heard which was: you can buy anything in Harrods, anything from a pin to an elephant! I’m not sure if the Elephant part of that saying is true but I would like to think it is. Apart from selling pins and Elephants they also sell a wide range of luxury brands and a couple of my favourites are Marc Jacobs and Love Moschino.

Sometimes I like to save up and buy something which is extra special and I think these items would be great to treat yourself.  Buying a designer handbag is really special and it can be a good investment if you pick one that is a classic shape and colour because you will be able to use for years to come. I have listed some bags below from Marc Jacobs which are a classic shape and they can be paired with most outfits . The first bag which is the Wellington Fulton Tote would be great to use every day or for work as it can hold all of the every day essentials and it still looks smart. Then when you prefer something smaller the All In One Bag would be excellent because it has compartments for your cards and money and even a built-in mirror for your make-up. It can also double up as a clutch bag if you detach the chain.

Love Moschino has been a very well known brand in the fashion blogging world over the last few years, this is because of the their famous statement name belts. They have lots of beautiful pieces which I think any fashionista would love to own. These are a few of my favourite items from the brand, which are classic pieces and they can be worn again and again without worrying about them going out of fashion.

REVIEW: Topshop Lipstick in Tease

I picked this lipstick up in Topshop a few weeks a go when I went to Cabot Circus in Bristol. I was originally looking to buy their lipstick in Saint but I wasn’t sold the colour because I thought it was very yellow toned and I wasn’t sure it would suit me so I swatched a few others and I decided on this one. Most of my lipsticks are nudes so I thought I should add a few bright colours to my collection even though I find wearing bright lipsticks a little scary.

This is a very blue toned barbie pink which I think is a really fun colour and I am going to enjoy creating a few different looks with it. The Topshop lipsticks are a lovely creamy formulation which are easy to apply and they last a long time if applied correctly. This is only my second one in my collection but I want to collect a few more over the next few months. Something I like about these are that compared to the Mac lipsticks I really like how the labels on the lipsticks are coordinated to which colour they are and I think this makes it easier when you are looking for a specific colour.

Does anyone else have any favourites from the Topshop lipstick range?

January 2013 Favourites

This is my first ever monthly favourites post and I really want to continue with them over the coming months. I think the number of products will vary as I tend to use the same things over and over. So as we have now reached the end of January and I thought I would show you what I have been loving recently.

Caudalie Divine Oil: I had heard lots of good things about this oil before I tried it so it had a lot to live up to. I have tried a couple of oils which are for your skin and this one is my favourite. I love the smell so much that I wish they would bottle it and sell it as a fragrance.

Origins Drink up Mask: The origins drink up mask has been a real saviour this month because we have had lots of snow and it has been really cold, my skin has been very dry. This is great to put onto your skin before you go to sleep, you leave it on over night and you wake up to lovely soft skin.

Ojon Rare Blend Oil: When I first tried this oil I wasn’t too sure I liked it because I didn’t think it was doing much for my hair but now that I have used it a few times I really like it. I just wish it came with a pump because its very easy to pour out too much and then it turns your hair into a greasy mess!

Ojon Revitalizing Mist: I have never used a detangling spray like this one before and I didn’t think I needed one but I have loved using this product. It makes brushing my hair so much easier after I have washed it and I really like the smell. I’m not sure its done much for the condition of my hair but I will repurchase another bottle when I have finished my current one.

REVIEW: Dead Sea Spa Magik Salt Brushing Exfoliating Scrub

I received these salt scrubs in my Glossybox and Joliebox which I previously subscribed to. Over the time that I had my subscriptions I received 4 packets of these which I never used and just put them to the side for another day. Quite recently I had used up my current scrub and I remembered that I had these. I didnt know what to expect from the product before I opened the packet and I just imagined it to be a plain salt scrub without any oils or fragrance.

I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the packet and the first thing that hit me was the sweet smell. The scrub is combined with oils and a lovely refreshing citrus smell. The salt particles are a good size but not too big so they dont scratch. The oils cover your skin which you instantly notice and they leave it really soft and cleansed. I think some people may find it a little too oily but this is one of the things I liked most about it. The packet gave me just the right amount for what I needed but I still wanted to use more because I thought it was a really lovely product.

I dont use scrubs very often in the winter because my skin gets very dry so I dont want to irritate it but I will be using these again when the weather starts to get warmer. When I have used the remaining ones I will most definitely buy a full size tub. The full size is priced at £13.30 for 500 ml which I think is very reasonable for such a lovely product.

Topshop Wishlist January 2013

High Roller Tank Top, Speckle Skater Skirt, Blue Jamie Jeans, Curve Hem Sweat, Diamond Cut Out Necklace, Lipstick in Saint

I was planning to post another review today but I wasn't able to take any pictures because my camera battery died so I thought I would show you my current wishlist from Topshop. I'm looking forward to the warmer weather coming and longer days. I just hope we get more sun this year because as most of you will know the last summer in the UK was a wash out!
