Topshop Winter Wishlist 2011

This is my current Topshop winter wish list. I don't know why but for some reason it seems everything I have picked is either black or grey! I usually wear lots of dark colours during the winter. At the moment I'm living in my black Topshop Leigh skinny jeans and the Primark mens stripe tee I posted in my previous post.

I love everything I have posted here, I have asked for the black snake skin ankle boots for Christmas. I haven't seen them in real life so I don't know what they are like in the flesh but I'm hoping they will be a great ankle boot that I will get a lot of use out of.

In other news I recently sold my car and bought a new one last week. It all happened in the space of literally two days, someone came to buy my old one on the Saturday and then I found my new car on the Sunday and picked it up on Monday. I will try and write a separate post about it because cars are something I have a big interest in, I'm not sure if everyone will want to read about it but it's something I would like to do. I'm also trying to look for a new job at the moment which is proving to be slow, but I'm hoping I will find something better in the new year.

Anyway, If I don't find the time to post again between here and Christmas I hope everyone has a great Christmas & new year!

Recent Purchases

As I haven't blogged for quite a while I thought it was time I posted something so I thought I would show you what I have bought lately.

I have bought most of these over last and this month. I probably wont be buying much for myself right now as Christmas is fast approaching but I do have my eye on a special bag that I would like. It is also my birthday next Monday (28th) so I hope I get lots of presents and new things. If I do I'm sure they will probably end up on the blog at some point.

Last month I bought a Michael Kors rose gold watch which is something I have wanted for a long time. We had some vouchers left over from our wedding so I put them towards this as I think it is a really special present that I will use for years to come.

This is also something I bought last month and I love them so much. I first knew I wanted these when I saw them in the Topshop lookbook which was back in July! They had sold out about 3 times online before I was able to grab a pair in a size 5. I don't regret buying them, they are very comfortable and sparkle so much.

I was watching Barbara's youtube channel last Sunday and I really liked the stripe top she was wearing so on Monday I went down to Primark and had a look in the mens section and I found it for £6.00. I love it, I just wish they had a few more colours.

I also picked up a few lipsticks when I was hanging around in Boots while I was waiting for a lift earlier this month. They are Collection 2000: Sweet Tart, Collection 2000, Pretty Please and 17: Cashmere Blush. I wouldn't recommend the Cashmere Blush lipstick as I find its very sheer and you have to put loads on for it to show up.

September 2011 Purchases

After I came back from holiday I had a mini spending spree on Topshop.com so I thought I would show you what I bought. There are also a couple of other things which I bought while I was on holiday.

This is the most I have ever bought from Topshop in one transaction for a very long time. I had some money left over which I had saved for my holiday so I decided to use it to get a few things I have had my eye on for a while.

I absolutely love the studded Topshop slippers, they are very comfortable and they go with just about everything so I know I will get a lot of use out of them. I think everyone has seen/heard about the Topshop Allegers as lots of people have them. I originally wanted to get the Ambush silver glitter boots but they sold out everywhere and I haven't seen them restocked online for quite some time now so I decided to get these instead. The fake leather jacket is also lovely, it fits perfectly which is just what I wanted and I love the quilted detail on the shoulders and elbows, it reminds me of a Balenciaga jacket.

The last picture are just a couple of things I also had my eye on, the blush shade is Pop which is a lovely pinky/coral colour. It reminds me of their cream blusher in neon rose but perhaps a little more subtle?

I love everything Cath Kidston so when we were in St Ives I popped into their shop and picked up a bag, threads tin, some lip balms and a mirror (not pictured). I really love Cath Kidston home ware things, I love the chintzy prints and florals. I have quite a few of her things dotted around the house so I love any excuse to get more.

Boudoir Prive September 2011

Today I received my first Boudoir Prive beauty box. When I first opened the box my first impressions were that there was quite a few different things in there and I could immediately smell the scent of lemons.

I took up their offer of having your first box half price by using a discount code, I thought for £5 why not try it?

I really liked that they included the Zoya leaflet which had examples of the different colours in the same collection as the sample they included.

Heres the list of the products included:

Colbert MD Nourish Eye Cream - I have never used an eye cream before but I'm really looking forward to trying this one.
Zoya nail polish - It claims to be very long lasting and chip resistant so as I'm always looking for chip resistant nail varnish this seems really appealing to me.
Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment - I have been wanting to buy some Morrocan oil ever since a hair dresser used some on my hair a few months ago so I'm hoping this will be just as good.
Tropic Skincare Body Smooth Refreshing Polish - This is where the smell of lemons was coming from, its really strong but also lovely and refreshing. I tried some of this earlier and it made the skin on my hands very soft.
Agent Provacateur L'Agent Eau De Parfum - I only had a quick sniff of this but I think I like it so I will probably use it.
Cargo Cosmetics Boogie Nights Eye Pencil - I was thinking the other day how I would like to try a blue eye pencil so it was a nice surprise to find this in the box.

I'm happy with the contents of the box but I would say that I prefer the Glossybox in the sense that they seem to provide bigger samples which I prefer but this is still a very good selection of products and I'm completely sure that I will use each and every one of them. I think I will be continuing my subscription for another month at full price and then perhaps after that I will make a decision on continuing.

Cornwall Holiday 2011

I am now back from our holiday in Cornwall and I am now officially married! The wedding day went really well, I was so happy that everyone came that we had invited. I saw lots of friends and family I haven't seen for quite a few years so it was great to catch up with them.

After the wedding day we went down to Cornwall to spend 6 days in a holiday cottage which was lovely. We visited lots of places and had a really good time. We stayed in a little place called Lamorna Cove which was beautiful and very peaceful.

One of my favourite places we visited was Kynance Cove on a windy but sunny day. We didn't spend very long here as we were on our way to Roskillys Farm but I would like to visit here again and stay longer next time.

For some reason I thought I needed to wear a trench coat on the day we visited the cove as I thought it was going to rain but I took my sandals off and went for a paddle anyway. After I came out of the sea I decided I didn't need my coat after all and took it off for the rest of the day. Please excuse the messy hair, it was so windy here it just blows everything away.

So now I only have tomorrow left before I have to return to work on Thursday and Friday which I'm really not looking forward to but I keep telling myself the weekend is not far away. I have also made a large Topshop order which I'm expecting any day now so when It arrives I will show you what I bought.

Models Own Nail Polishes

As I'm sure some of you will know Models Own had a 50% off sale last week so I decided to take this as an opportunity to purchase some. I have never tried Models Own polishes before but after using them today I can say I'm impressed. I normally only buy Barry M polishes as I find they have great colours and they don't chip too easily but after using these today I will definitely be adding more Models Own polishes to my collection.

I'm a bit of a magpie so I went for a couple of the glitter polishes but I would like to get some of the darker colours for autumn/winter.

Here are a couple of pictures of the colours I picked.

From left to right the colours are: Gold Rush, Pink Blush, Champagne, Pink Fizz, Juicy Jules and 3 in one base coat/top coat, etc.

It is now exactly 1 week until I get married! I can't believe how fast it has come around, it only feels like yesterday we were trying to decide what date we wanted to pick and now its nearly here. I'm really looking forward to going on holiday to Cornwall the day after so expect lots of photos when I return. I'm thinking of doing a give away when I get back, but I'm not sure what its going to be yet so look out for that.

Scones

One of my favourite things to bake are Scones. The reason I really like making them is because the recipe I use is really quick, easy and there isn't much too clean up after. They are really delicious with some strawberry jam. Here are a couple of pictures of some I made a few weeks ago:

This is the recipe I use which is from the bbc good food website.

Classic Scones with Sultanas.
Ingredients:
350g self-raising flour , plus more for dusting
¼ tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
85g butter , cut into cubes
3 tbsp caster sugar
85g sultanas
175ml milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
squeeze lemon juice
beaten egg , to glaze
jam and clotted cream , to serve

Method:

Heat oven to 220C/fan 200C/gas 7. Tip the flour into a large bowl with the salt and baking powder, then mix. Add the butter, then rub in with your fingers until the mix looks like fine crumbs. Stir in the sugar & sultanas.
Put the milk into a jug and heat in the microwave for about 30 secs until warm, but not hot. Add the vanilla and lemon juice, then set aside for a moment. Put a baking sheet in the oven.
Make a well in the dry mix, then add the liquid and combine it quickly with a cutlery knife - it will seem pretty wet at first. Scatter some flour onto the work surface and tip the dough out. Dredge the dough and your hands with a little more flour, then fold the dough over 2-3 times until it's a little smoother. Pat into a round about 4cm deep.
Take a 5cm cutter (smooth-edged cutters tend to cut more cleanly, giving a better rise) and dip it into some flour. Plunge into the dough, then repeat until you have four scones. By this point you'll probably need to press what's left of the dough back into a round to cut out another four. Brush the tops with beaten egg, then carefully place onto the hot baking tray.
Bake for 10 mins until risen and golden on the top. Eat just warm or cold on the day of baking, generously topped with jam and clotted cream. If freezing, freeze once cool. Defrost, then put in a low oven (about 160C/fan140C/gas 3) for a few mins to refresh.

If you follow this recipe it should result in scones like the ones I made in the pictures above. I have found that its a really easy recipe to follow so if you don't do baking very often I really recommend you try this one.

Inside My Makeup Bag

I thought I would show you what I currently have in my make up bag because I love reading posts like these. This is just a small selection of my make up, I have lots more lip glosses and eyeshadows. I also have a large number of Barry M nail varnishes which I will have to show you in a different post.

Urban Decay Naked Pallet, Topshop Neon Rose Blush, Topshop Kabuki Brush, Boujouis Rose D'Or Blush, Benefit Sugarbomb Blush, Lily Lolo Porcelain Foundation, Maxfactor Falsh Lash Effect Mascara, Mac Lip glosses from the Fafi and Heatherette collections, Benefit Erase Paste and Elf powder and stipple brushes.

I bought the Urban Decay pallet after reading the reviews on it by other bloggers, it really is as good as people say it is. I love all the different neural shades. I use this palette daily and I might use it for my wedding make up as well.

I have only recently become interested in blushes so the ones shown here are ones I have bought quite recently. I really love the colour of Topshop Neon Rose but I don't really like it being a cream blusher because I find it really hard to blend. I was quite surprised by the colour of Benefit Sugarbomb, I expected it to be closer to the Boujois blush but its actually quite a corally blush. I like it but I'm not convinced that the colour suits me.

I have very pale skin and I have found the only foundation which suits my skin is the Lily Lolo mineral foundation in Porcelain. I really like how it makes my skin look, I find just after I have put it on it can look quite "caked on" but after it has been on my skin a little while it seems to settle down and I love it. I would really like to try the new Illamasqua foundation as I would prefer to have a liquid foundation for my wedding day so I might try that out but I can't decide what shade to get!

I have tried a few different mascaras and I have found this Maxfactor one is my favourite. I know a lot of people don't like it but I really like "clumpy" lashes and I find you can really build this mascara up with lots of layers. I really want to try their new one called Fusion in the purple bottle so I will probably buy that when I get paid.

There is not much to say about the other things here, I always wear lipgloss as instead of lipstick, I'm not sure why but I think I like the texture and glossiness of them. I really like these Elf brushes, I use the power brush for foundation and sometimes I use the stipple brush to apply blusher.

Glossy Box July 2011

I didn't do a post on the Glossy box last month because I was really busy and I didn't have enough time to take photos of the box. Last months box wasn't as good (in my opinion) so you didn't miss out on anything anyway.

I have only tried the lipgloss at the moment but I'm really pleased with what I received this month. I was happy to see the Illamasqua lipgloss in the box because I have wanted to try their makeup for a while. The lipgloss is a pearl colour which I have worn over the top of a pink lipgloss which gives a nice effect.

The body oil smells lovely and I'm looking forward to trying this later. I like the lashes as well but I find false lashes look too heavy on me so they might not suit me but I was pleased to see they come with the glue included.

I have tried xen tan before and I really liked it then so I was pleased to see a sample size in the box so I can try it again. I'm not sure this will cover all of my body but I will probably try it at some point.

Anyway, this is just a quick post about the box this month. I am looking forward to see what will come next month!

July Purchases

As we are reaching the end of the month and I had some spare time to take a few photos this weekend I thought I would show you a few things I have bought this month. I'm going to try and make this a regular feature but I am very busy at the moment so I can't promise I will stick to this!

I discovered these boots after watching Kelly's video where she said she found them in the River Island sale. After seeing her video I went down to River Island the next day to look for them, I didn't think I would find them but I struck lucky and I grabbed the last pair in a size 5 for £25. I absolutely love these boots, I think I will be wearing them with everything this winter.

I have been obsessed with striped t-shirts this month so I couldn't resist buying this APC top when I saw it in the net-a-porter.com sale a few weeks ago. I bought the large size which fits quite loose on me but I like my t-shirts loose and slightly oversized. It has a lovely thick material so I think I will be wearing this in the winter paired with some black skinny jeans.

I bought the vintage polka dot top on ebay for quite a good price. It has a silky material which feels lovely to wear. I think this will be another top I will be wearing this winter.

This post wouldn't be complete without something I have bought from Primark. I bought these at the start of the month when they started having their sale so I bought these at £5 each which I thought was quite a bargain. I really like playsuits as I find that if I can't find anything else to wear these are really easy to just throw on.

I also picked up these earring sets in Primark recently. I hope they make more of these because I love the designs they make and you get lots to choose from for £1.50! The only thing I would say about these is that make sure you check the earrings before you buy them as sometimes the backs of them can be bent.

New Layout

This is just a quick post to say that you might have noticed I have been playing with the layout on the blog today.

I have updated the header with a new one, changed the colours and made some other small amendments. I think it looks much better now, it feels like its my blog and not just a standard template! I might continue editing it over the weekend so you might see some small differences.

So, seeing as I have changed the layout around a little would anyone like to do a link exchange? Let me know!

Wedding

As I have mentioned before I am getting married in September and things are really starting to get busy right now. I thought I would write a small post to let you know whats happening so here are some of the details.

I really wanted to have french macarons as our wedding favours but I didn't think I would be able to find them because no one makes them where I live but I found somewhere that will post them by mail order next day delivery. This made me very excited so I have ordered 60 for my favours. They will have a pink shell and a vanilla centre like the ones pictured below. I'm going to place them in a glossy white box and tie them with pink ribbon.

Now on to the dress, I'm not going to post a picture of it until the wedding is over even though you can find it online but its a simple but very pretty dress from Monsoon. I didn't want the traditional "puffy" dress that most people have so I'm really happy with this one. I originally wanted a vintage dress but I found it really difficult to find anything I wanted. I did infact buy a vintage dress but I'm not going to use it because its more of a party dress because its quite short and it has a very high neck which is not very flattering on me unfortunately.

Decoration wise I am going to decorate our reception with lots of pastel balloons in big bunches. On the tables I am currently trying to track down some jugs or vases to fill with pretty flowers similar to the picture below. (Sorry I can't remember where I saved this picture from)

Anyway these are just a few of the details, there are still lots of small things to prepare. So over the coming weeks everything is going to start getting very busy. I will end this post with a picture of the wedding cake from Waitrose which I am going to order.

Topshop A/W 2011

Following on from my previous Autumn/Winter 2011 posts these are my favourite picks from Topshop. I really love the Glam Rock collection which is shown in the pictures above. I will definitely buy some of the items, I especially want the silver glitter boots. They remind me of a pair by Giuseppe Zanotti which have been on the feet of many fashion bloggers. I think they would be great for the day time paired with some black skinny jeans and a plain jumper or top.

I think I have finally cracked how to put my images together neatly on Blogger. I found a table generator which I can use for images. This means I wont have to fight with Blogger just to try and get some images all in one line. I have been quite busy recently with work, wedding preparations and posting ebay things but I'm hoping I will get some time in a few weeks to take some photos for the blog to show what I have purchased recently.

Primark Autumn / Winter 2011

As a Primark fan I just had to post these when I saw they had released their A/W 2011 preview. I was quite surprised to see this because in previous years Primark usually release their photos quite late compared to other shops. Primark have stated that some of these pieces are already out and more will be coming out from July onwards which seems quite early but I can't wait to see them in store.

There are a few things I really like in this collection. I will certainly be looking out for the peter pan dress in the first picture and the chunky knit jumper in the second. I think the dalmation coat looks quite interesting as well but I'm not sure how good this will be until I see it in person. I have seen pictures of their jewellery as well and I think it looks quite good but as always with Primark you really have to see it yourself to find out if its any good!

P.S I'm aware one of my photos is not correctly aligned, I have no idea why Blogger does this!

H&M Autumn / Winter 2011

These are some my favourite pieces from the H&M Autumn / Winter 2011 Collection. I know we are only in June but I always prefer winter clothes to summer ones and I always look forward to seeing the AW collections coming out online. I love being able to dress up in jumpers, scarves, hats, gloves, wooly tights, boots, etc! I really like the cardigan in the first picture and the green and white cable knit jumpers. I really want one of these this winter to pair with some black skinny jeans and ankle boots.

I really like seeing posts previewing the new seasons high street collections so I will try to do more of them when I see them being released. Also, I think I have finally found out how to arrange my pictures on blogger so they are side to side! I really don't like how blogger uses HTML to add bits on you don't want!

Germany

As I mentioned in my previous post I set off on a really long road trip to Germany last Friday evening. I'm not sure how long it took us to get there in the end as I fell a sleep after half way but I was quite surprised how comfortable the journey was. I was slightly concerned that the ferry crossing might be rough but the sea was very calm both ways.

We had a lovely time over there and we hope we can go again next year but the wedding is taking up a lot of our time at the moment and its only going to get worse over the coming months/weeks!

I took a few pictures while I was out there but they are mostly landscape or car racing pictures which I'm not sure you will want to see and I don't think they are very appropriate for the blog.

The picture above is the view from our room in the house we stayed in. The surroundings were full of forests and hills which was very pretty. I took this on my iphone using the Hipstamatic app so apologies for the "lomo" style.

This little cutie is my boyfriends parents new Poodle puppy. They picked her up last weekend so we went over to meet her and I took some pictures. She is absolutely adorable and now we have decided we must get our own one day.

I'm off to Germany for 5 days from this Friday so I have lots of packing to do this week. I will take my camera with me so hopefully I will come back with lots of pictures to share.

Topshop Wishlist

I have been having quite a lazy day today which means I have been browsing the Topshop website doing some window shopping. After reading the bloggers debate on Twitter I thought it was about time I did another blog post so this is my latest Topshop wishlist.

I love the suede boots as I think they are a really good copy of the Isabel Marant boots which I love. Unfortunately these boots sold out ages ago and they are really popular on ebay. I hope I can get a pair on ebay nearer to winter as I think they would look great with a pair of black skinny jeans and a nice warm jumper.

Glossy Box

I'm sure you have already heard about the Glossybox by now as everyone seems to be posting about them. But anyway I went to pick mine up from the post office yesterday and I was really excited to see what was inside.

I love how everything was packed, it makes it feel very sleek. I will probably end up with lots of these little pink boxes around the house in a few months! I was really pleased with the products, I have been wanting to try NARS for ages so I was excited to find the illuminator in the box. I haven't really used it yet but I know I already love the colour. The lipstick also seems very nice but I'm a little scared of red lipstick as I always think the colour looks too strong on me.

I think it is well worth the £10.00 a month charge and I can't wait to see what will be inside the June box!

Tiffany & Co

Last Saturday (the day after the royal wedding) we went on a day trip to London so I could pick out my wedding ring. I already knew the one I wanted so it didn't take long to pop to Tiffany in Selfridges and pick it up. Its a beautiful silver band with tiny diamonds inserted in the centre.

I didn't take a picture of the ring as it feels a little strange to show it off when I'm not actually married yet.

I also bought another wedding dress on Saturday. I originally had a lovely vintage dress which I still really love but it just wasn't right for me. It has a very high neck which doesn't suit me at all but I hope I can get it altered and use it as a party dress. So instead I bought a lovely dress from Monsoon which is very long so I need to get some very high heels! I also need to get a clutch bag and some jewellery.

Holiday Photos

Here is a quick peek at some photos I took when we have been on holiday this week. The first two photos were taken at Tyntesfield which is near my mum and dads. We went there to visit on Wednesday when the weather was nice and warm, afterwards we had cream teas in the cafe which was lovely.

The other two photos are taken in my mum and dads garden when the sun was out. I love this Topshop x Kate Moss dress which I have posted about before! I go back to work tomorrow but I can't wait to be on holiday again.

As you can see from the picture I have been shopping in Primark again. I had a dentist appointment on Friday so I had to take the day off work so afterwards me and mum took a trip into town to do some shopping and I came away with these things from Primark.

I love the dresses, I think they will be perfect for summer. They had them in lots of different colours but I loved the coral and the floral print.

As we are going to Cornwall in September after the wedding I thought this hat would be perfect to keep the sun off my face as I'm hoping for some hot lazy days.

I also picked up these aviator sunglasses and this fabulous oversized turquoise ring.

Primark have some great stuff in at the moment but you really have to search through all the rubbish to find the good stuff. I noticed they had lots of long midi and maxi dresses which I thought were lovely and would be perfect for summer especially for holidays.

Upgrade

After two years my phone contract was due an upgrade, so last week I decided on an iphone 4 and here it is. It's fabulous, I love everything about it. It feels like a big upgrade from my Blackberry. I have been downloading songs and apps to put on it which is one thing I missed on the Blackberry. Does anyone have any apps they recommend?

I thought I would show you a few of my purchases this week. As some of you might know Topshop had a flash sale today so at lunch time I walked down to see what they had on offer and I came away with these two rings. I was really glad I was able to get them because I really wanted them before they were in the sale.

On Monday I purchased this lovely floral top from Primark which I think will be great for summer. I will be paring it with skinny jeans and shorts.

USA

As I have previously mentioned I am getting married in September this year and for our honeymoon we want to go to America. We have been thinking about doing a 2 week tour of Los Angeles, Las Vegas and San Francisco. I really want to go but we are a little bit concerned about the travelling between the different cities as we will have to drive to them in a hire car. Has anyone done something like this before? I have never really done any travelling abroad so this would be quite an adventure!

We still have some time to plan this as we are thinking about going in April next year so I will have some extra time to save up for shopping!

One of my favourite things to do when I have some free time is baking. I haven't had much time to do any baking recently as we have been very busy making wedding preperations since Christmas but yesterday I had some free time. I baked this chocolate swirl cake, I have to admit that this is a Betty Crocker packet mix but I love them because the cake is always so light and fluffy and very easy to make. Hopefully I will be doing some more baking in a few weeks when I have a day to myself.

Spring 2011

Is anyone else really looking forward to spring? I always think spring is just around the corner when I see daffodils in the shops.

I am looking forward the warmer weather, longer days and digging out my spring/summer wardrobe. I have just purchased a new pair of Topshop Jamie jeans to wear this spring / summer. They have a slightly higher waist on them which means I can wear shirts and t-shirts tucked in. I am looking out to buy a new pair of sandals as well, I would like to find a strappy pair with a heel which are still comfortable to wear.

In the last week I have found the shops are starting to bring out their spring/summer collections and I can't wait to start purchasing things. We last got paid about 5 weeks ago which means I'm feeling really poor right now and I have lots of things I want to buy. Anyway I only have to wait a few more days so I thought I would show you my current Topshop wishlist.

Primark Purchases

I thought I would post a few of my recent purchases from Primark. It looks like they had quite a lot of new jewellery items so they must be bringing out their Spring / Summer collection. I noticed there was quite a few nautical inspired jewellery items, they had bracelets with sea horses and anchors, they also had a ring with a big star fish which I nearly bought.

I wont post the prices as you can see how much they were, the love ring was £1.50.

UK Snow

Like most of the UK we woke up to lots of snow today. We went out for a walk so I made sure I wrapped up warm. I had my faux fur coat, 2 pairs of tights and my big totes socks on. I also wore my Cath Kidston wellies which I bought back in the summer on sale, I knew they would be great for this kind of weather.

Anyway, I took these pictures in the garden when we came home. I always have to go out and take a few shots when it snows.

Heres the outfit I wore today. The jumper is a little bit too big for me but it was sold out in my size so I bought it in a size up. We just popped out to get something to eat and do a little bit of Christmas shopping.

I am thinking about upgrading my camera to a Canon 40d. I currently have a 350d which I bought a few years ago. It doesn't seem to be producing the standard of photos I want anymore so I think it might be a good excuse to upgrade.

Frosty Morning

It was very frosty and misty today. I looked out of the window and noticed these cobwebs on the fence had turned white so I thought it was a great photo opportunity. I grabbed the camera and went outside and snapped a few shots.

The cobwebs were all entwined along the fence and it reminded me of white lace.

New Lens

It was my birthday last week and one of the presents I received was a new lens for my camera. The picture above is one of the first pictures I have taken with it. I love the expression on her face, she looks so grumpy!

I haven't taken many photos lately but I hope I will take more now I have this new lens as it makes it easier to take close up pictures.

P.S I'm going to try and make this blog more active!

I treated myself to a pair of Miu Miu sandals in the Net-A-Porter.com sale. They are lovely, I think I will get a lot of wear out of them as I really wanted a nice pair of sandals to wear in the summer.

I seem to be really inspired by floaty shirts lately, I keep looking for the perfect white/cream silk shirt. I haven't found it yet but I'm sure one will pop up. I bought a vintage one on ebay last week which I thought was going to be exactly what I wanted but it was more green than I liked and although it's pure silk its not quite what I wanted. It's still lovely though so I will get a lot of wear out of it.

I've decide to stop buying any new clothes for now and start saving instead. Although if I see the perfect shirt which I described above I will probably make an exception!

I love these photos of Alexa wearing this Kate Moss for Topshop pansy dress. I won one on ebay a couple of weeks ago (before these pictures were taken). I have been trying to get one for ages, ever since I saw a girl wearing it in Ikea. I didn't realise how pretty the print was before I saw it in real life, photos don't do it justice!

I have booked a trip to visit London next week as we have a week off work. I normally go about once a year but we didn't make it last year as life was very hectic. We normally visit at least one of the museums but I think we have seen most of the ones we wanted to visit.

I know I want to make a trip to Selfridges and perhaps Beyond Retro but can anyone suggest any good vintage shops or any cute places? I was thinking about going to cyber candy to get some sweets.

I hope the weather will be nice so we can sit in one of the parks and relax. I always really love London when we visit but its always so busy, which of course is to be expected!

Heres a picture of todays outfit. I don't normally do outfit posts because I'm very self conscious but I might try to do more in the future. Apologies for the mess behind me as I just took the photo quickly without tidying.

Everything I'm wearing here comes from H&M even the necklace. The top is an oversized lace t-shirt which I'm not quite sure how to wear but I really like it.

Like everyone else I am totally in love with Miu Miu at the moment. I love their swallow prints. I would probably have these shoes in every design if I could!

There are some great DIY tutorials on the web at the moment from bloggers. These are two of my favourites FVNCY and fieldguided. As I'm not likely to be getting any of the Miu Miu items any time soon I really want to try these.

I love collecting rings. Most of the ones I have collected are from Topshop or ASOS, there are a couple of vintage ones too. My favourite is the big pink heart which you can just see on the right of the picture near the bottom, this came from ASOS. I really like vintage jewellery but I've found it hard to find things I like. I have recently bought a pretty vintage pendant which I will post a picture of when it arrives.

Little Cats

These are our two cats, they are called Lula and Bluebell. We got them last November so they are still growing. Bluebell is still quite small but shes very cuddly.

Lula likes to bring in small creatures like worms, birds and frogs! Bluebell seems to prefer chasing flys and bees around the garden.

Cornwall

I love Cornwall, especially St Ives. We went there last December, it was very cold and wet but we still had a good time. We stayed in a National Trust holiday cottage which was overlooking Cadgwith harbour. I wish I could go again this year but its not looking likely at the moment.

We made the most of the sun today and went out to visit a National Trust property. We visited The Courts Garden in Holt where I took lots of pictures. As it's still quite early spring there weren't many flowers out. I'm sure its a lovely garden when every thing is in full bloom. These are a couple of the pictures I took today.
